Canned Heat

Canned Heat have been a global phenomenon for 40 years due to their classic hits such as “On The Road Again”. Seu Jorge

In commemoration of David Bowie’s passing some two years ago, Brazilian musician Seu Jorge performs a special tribute show to the late genius, while also recreating the set to his role in Wes Anderson’s film A Life Aquatic. Having risen to fame from his role as Pelé dos Santos, a singing sailor of delicate, acoustic renditions of David Bowie hits including ‘Rebel Rebel’, ‘Life On Mars’ and ‘Changes’, his unique versions have become a point of celebration and reflection upon the passing of a creative icon.

The New Power Generation

Those who knew Prince knew that he was always pushing himself and experimenting with new sounds and the musical chemistry of working with new musicians was a part of that process. When he formed The New Power Generation (The NPG) in 1990 they went on together to create ‘Diamond & Pearls’ a record that sparked more hits on the Billboard charts than any other Prince album released since Purple Rain. It is an honor to welcome original members of this band to the Bluesfest stage in 2018. Their intent is to honor their boss, their mentor and his music, and to give fans a chance to celebrate and say goodbye to one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.

Walter Trout

Walter Trout is the beating heart of the modern Blues/Rock scene, respected by the old guard, revered by the young guns, and adored by the fans who shake his hand after the show each night. After five decades in the game, Trout is a talismanic figure and part of the glue that bonds the Blues community together, at a time when the wider world has never been so divided. He’s also the only artist with the vision, talent and star-studded address book to pull off a project on the scale of ‘We’re All In This Together’, his latest album released in September 2017. “It was quite a piece of work to get this record together,” he admits. “But I guess I have a lot of friends, y’know…?”
