Who needs the brave new world when the old school is still this good?” - Sunday Mirror

Another show, another roaring success… A superb showcase of a band still at the top of their game” – Sunday Mirror

Bluesfest Touring is delighted to announce the winners of the peoples choice supports competition!
Ozskas will be killing it in Sydney, and That Gold Street Sound will be showcasing their amazing talent in Melbourne. Congratulations to both bands!

One of the biggest bands of the 2-Tone movement, The Beat presents a wall of sound that transcends time, and ska fusion rhythms in a dynamic show that ignites crowds the world over.

Their songs of peace, love and unity broadcast through a dynamic live show has enthralled audiences with relentless energy and world-class musicianship since the late 70’s. And now the platinum-selling, mercurial collective is making a rare trip down under.

Their first single, an arresting new version of Smokey Robinson’s “Tears of a Clown” backed with their own “Ranking Full Stop” stormed into the Top 10 in 1979, prompting two Top of the Pops appearances. “Hands Off... She’s Mine” was the first of twelve chart singles including "Mirror in the Bathroom", "Too Nice To Talk To", and "All Out To Get You”.
After a long hiatus and many offers to reform, in 2003 they returned to the stage with the incomparable Ranking Roger as front man, to critical acclaim. They’ve since been ranked #45 in the UK Telegraph’s Top 100 Glastonbury performances of all time.
The future still to be written, there can be no question…The Beat is back!
