After dominating the Australian airwaves with their chart topping single ‘Ho Hey’, Denver folk outfit The Lumineers have sold out their March Melbourne and Sydney shows, and Brisbane isn’t far behind. Due to overwhelming demand, the Sydney venue has been upgrade from the Metro Theatre to the Enmore theatre, and the show will now take place on Thursday the 28th of March. Tickets to this show are on sale now.

Existing tickets to the Metro show on the 27th will be valid at the Enmore Theatre, and if patrons cannot attend the new date refunds will be available via ticketek on 132 849 before March 1st.

The radical roots revival of recent times is showing no sign of abating, and Australian audiences are about to meet some new friends in the form of The Lumineers. They’ve received global attention over the past year thanks to the release of their acclaimed self-titled debut album and its smash single, 'Ho Hey', which with over 37 million YouTube views has topped charts worldwide. The single has been awarded Australia’s #1 most played track on radio and reached #3 on the ARIA singles chart. The trio have been invited to both perform and present an award at this week’s Grammy Awards, where they are nominated for Best New Artist and Best Americana Album.

Many have found commonality between The Lumineers and acts like The Avett Brothers and Heartbreaker- era Ryan Adams in the way that they float beautiful narratives over sparse beds of old-timey instrumentation, with banjo, cello, mandolin and piano giving the band their earthy, organic veneer. It’s little wonder that The Lumineers won over hordes of new admirers touring the States with Old Crow Medicine Show earlier this year, because the timeless nature of both bands’ music draws inspiration from the same deep musical well.

Joining The Lumineers in all 3 cities will be The Falls. The Sydney folk duo met, fell in love, fought, made up, broke up and then went on document their whole relationship through songs. Having toured nationally in 2012 with Of Monsters And Men (Iceland), Passenger (UK) and Avalanche City (NZ), The Falls are fast developing a loyal following.

So in a world besotted with the old-time charms of acts like Mumford And Sons there’s clearly a place in the scene for the effortless camaraderie, class and authenticity of The Lumineers, and Australian music aficionados are going to have the chance to find out for themselves when they hit the country for their inaugural visit Down Under this March. Delve into the future and discover the music of yesteryear today!

“...an album that’s long on nostalgic reveries.” Rolling Stone
“...uniquely American in all the best ways: gritty, determined, soaked in seat and love and drive.” Austin
