Calling all retro soul, r&b, funk and jazz DJs! Is your vinyl collection filled with groovy floor fillers? Do you dream of playing before a true legend? If so, Bluesfest Touring has the competition for you! We are looking for a DJ to open for The Grandfather of Neo Soul Roy Ayers at The Basement in Sydney on Wednesday 12 April.

Roy’s career has been diverse and impressive, he created an influential soundtrack for the 1973 Blaxploitation film Coffy, performed on Whitney Houston’s hit song ‘Love Will Save the Day’ and is one of the most sampled artists in hip hop history, his songs have been featured on hits by Common, Tyler the Creator, A Tribe Called Quest, Mary J. Blige, Dr Dre and D’Angelo - to name a few.
The winning DJ will be in good company as DJ Eddie Mac who was personally selected by Prince to DJ at his after parties will be opening his Melbourne date and DJ Stephen Ferris, who has worked alongside DJs Frankie Knuckles, Paul Oakenfeld, and Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim), will open at The Basement on Tuesday April 11th.
