Founded in 1998 by best friends Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme, the Palm Desert pair came upon the band’s name in a pondering effort as to what a cross between The Eagles and a death metal band would sound like. With that, the band was born!

With a sound that’s a combination of Bluegrass slide guitar mixed with firing drumbeats and tantalising vocals from a front man known for his over-the-top stage histrionics and interaction with his fans; the survivors of the Bataclan shooting in 2015 are best known for classic hits like ‘Miss Alissa’, ‘Wannabe in L.A.’ and ‘Save a Prayer’. They’ve released four studio albums to date and have toured the world extensively over the past two decades; with a brand-new studio album ‘Eagles of Death Metal Present Boots Electric Performing The Best Songs We Never Wrote’ which was released in June 2019, featuring 13 covers of songs that have inspired Hughes over the years.

John Mayall

As a musician, Mayall backed blues great John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker and Sonny Boy Williamson on their first English club tours before creating the Bluesbreakers in 1963 where he initiated future stars such as Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood and Mick Taylor to the scene.

John Mayall’s list of accolades in life is pretty impressive – a Lifetime Achievement Award from Blues Matters, an Officer of the Order of the British Empire by the Queen’s ‘Honours’ list, induction into the Blues Hall of Fame and two Independent Blues Awards to name just a few.

Today, Mayall is still working with the very best. His recent album ‘Nobody Told Me’ featured guest appearances from the likes of Alex Lifeson, Joe Bonamassa, Todd Rundgren and Steve Van Zandt. Continuing this tradition of working with the best in the business, his band includes Carolyn Wonderland on guitar, Greg Rzab on bass and Jay Davenport on drums. While she has been known as the “Little Folksinger,” her music has embraced punk, funk, hip hop, jazz, soul, electronica and even more distant sounds. Her collaborators have included everyone from Utah Phillips to legendary R&B saxophonist Maceo Parker to Prince. She has shared stages with Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger, Kris Kristofferson, Greg Brown, Billy Bragg, Michael Franti, Chuck D., and many more. Her most recent album Binary was released in June 2017 on Righteous Babe Records and her memoir No Walls and the Recurring Dream was released in May 2019 by Viking Books.
